Send Your Boss To Jail (For A Good Cause, Of Course)

Liverpool Chamber’s crime-fighting team, Business Crime Direct, are looking for volunteers to take part in this year’s ‘Jail & Bail’ fundraising event, in support of the Stroke Association.

Taking place on Friday 23 March, they are looking for twenty volunteers for some public humiliation. (That’s why it’s always better to recruit a manager - the more senior, the better for morale!) These volunteers will receive a sponsorship form, a police forensic suit and a bag marked “swag”. On the designated day the volunteers will be arrested and handcuffed and taken away in a liveried police van by police officers, from their office or venue of their choosing. There will be a Town Crier present to announce the trumped up charges and the arrest. The volunteer now in forensic suit & police restraints will be taken to the custody suite, which on this occasion will be a suite in the Cunard Building at the Pier Head. There they will be fingerprinted & photographed.

Here they will be given lunch and a glass of champagne and hospitality from the Stroke Association. The volunteers in their turn will collect £500 in sponsorship from work colleagues / friends / relations etc. who would take great pleasure in seeing their arrest and public humiliation.

Each volunteer will be given a certificate, their police photo and fingerprints to commemorate the day. If there is a suitable “victim” within your organisation, male or female, then please have them read the material attached and contact Louise Elliot, of the Stroke Assoc. on 0161 745 9595.

Don’t worry that officers are being taken from regular duties for this event as the “arrest” operation is being planned by Police & PCSO recruits in-training.
