Merseyside Business Environment Network (Merben) are hosting a number of workshops looking at sustainable construction.

The sessions will cover:

• why clients want sustainable construction
• corporate social responsibility and the benefits it can bring
• recycling and reusing materials
• minimising construction waste
• the code for sustainable homes
• implementing an Environmental Management System
• and much more.

The programme is aimed at small and medium sized construction companies and looks at how they can improve business through a better understanding of the sustainability agenda.

The events are taking place at:

• Merseyside - Lace Centre, Liverpool on 17 April
• Cheshire - The Heath, Runcorn on 24 April

Ace blogger and all-round culture-vulture Stuart Burns has set up Liverpool Blogs, to document, describe and link to the many other blogs coming out of Liverpool.

Although only just launched, it already includes a comprehensive list of interesting sites. They cover a range of topics, including culture, sport, humour, politics and everyday life. As time goes on, Stuart intends to feature each blog in turn and highlight some of its content.
