Liverpool Cathedral

The Chamber is supporting an event at Liverpool Cathedral on 26 September 2007 to celebrate the contribution of business to the City of Liverpool in the past, the present situation and the aspirations for the future.

It will be an early evening event with a variety of participants to celebrate achievements and to stimulate thoughts on the future business direction coupled with demonstrating many of the talents that exist in the city.

The celebration will engage with local communities and have a number of features which will require business support (not necessarily money!).

Opportunities for members include:

  • A display of materials to demonstrate an organisation’s role in the city - this could be sector or organisationally based.
  • Create hospitality that demonstrates the diversity of the city. Food will be served as a welcome to our early evening event - if this is your business could you prepare and serve food for (say) 100 people that demonstrates the spread of cultures that exist here. Five continents, two sections from each continent each serving 100 people would provide hospitality for target audience of 1000 people. This could be an opportunity to bring your cuisine to the attention of a large audience!
  • Artistic interpretation around the theme of ‘Cotton’ is being considered with a community tea-shirt competition, the results of which could possibly be considered for inclusion in the 2008 Biennial Arts Festival

If you have an interest in this event and feel you could contribute please get in touch by 20 July so that ideas can be considered further in drawing up the programme for the event.

Invitations will be issued to a wide audience and a response will be required to obtain a ticket for the event - more news on this soon.

Expressions of interest should be addressed to: steve.pearse@liverpoolchamber.org.uk
