Liverpool Chamber held its 157th AGM on Tuesday 1 July. The meeting was opened by the Chamber’s President Lord Derby. During the formalities Lord Derby was re- elected as president, David Wade Smith as Chairman, Ed Oliver as Vice Chair and Sara Wilde as Deputy Vice Chair.
In his speech David Wade Smith noted that the Chamber’s financial results are particularly pleasing and the Chamber’s sphere of influence is growing, enabling an increasing influence in civic and economic affairs and a growing and active membership.
Chief Executive, Jack Stopforth’s speech praised the hard work by chamber staff in bringing about the rapid turnaround in the Chamber’s financial position in the past two years. He commented in the projected increase in turnover in the forthcoming year and the success in bringing the 2008 BCC conference to Liverpool.
