More night buses will be on the road in Liverpool this weekend, to cope with additional numbers expected at the Mathew Street festival.
Arriva has decided to operate its popular Saturday night services from Friday 24 August through to Monday 27, meaning places such as Huyton, Bootle, Crosby and Wirral will have regular services between midnight and 4.30am for the whole of the Bank Holiday weekend.
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce welcomed the move and has even helped out by sending leaflets promoting the changes to local pubs.
Arriva Commercial manager Derek Bowes said: “Although sadly the outdoor stages will be absent, we still expect thousands of music lovers will fill the clubs and bars in the city centre this weekend. We’ve decided to extend our night bus network to give them a safe and reliable way of getting home in the early hours.”
Residents of Croxteth, Kirkby, Aintree, and Maghull will also benefit from the additional services. For full details of all Arriva’s night bus services call 0844 800 4411 or visit www.arrivabus.co.uk
