Hotcorn screen capYou are a burning little star of heat! It’s your job to make as much popcorn as you can in the time allotted. Do this by whizzing around the screen to pop the kernels. But watch out for the sticky butter and the water.

Sounds easy enough, but from level 14 on it’s a swine!

Have you ever asked yourself why companies like Tesco and Toyota are so successful? The answer is that their employees improve their organisation every day. This is your chance to make big savings in your organisation by doing the same.

But hurry…it starts on 5th October and is limited to 12 places. . . .

The course takes senior managers and public and private sector business owners through the process of making a big impact on their organisation by using continuous improvement, Lean and Six Sigma techniques. The programme includes two hours 1-2-1 coaching and an actual project on each delegate’s organisation.

It will focus on forming a supportive team of delegates, demystifying some the jargon, doing practical examples and then coaching delegates through making changes to their organisation by the end of the course - it will be a lot of fun and make a big difference to the performance of their organisation.

It’s a three day course on Friday 5 October 2007, Friday 19 October 2007 and Friday 2 November 2007. It is £695 + VAT with up to 60% off through Skillworks funding. Chamber members can also get an extra 10% off. This could mean non-members pay just £408.31, including VAT, and Chamber members as little as £367.48 including VAT.

The project that delegates are coached through in their organisation should save a lot more than that!

If you’d like to know more, please speak to Jerry Hopkins on 07714 071 552.

QE2 On The Mersey

QE2The famous cruise ship the Queen Elizabeth 2 was in town on Friday. Berthed at the new cruise liner terminal by the Princes Dock, the ship was here as part of her penultimate around Britain cruise. She’s 40 now and is being decommissioned (or whatever happens to cruise ships) after her next few jaunts.

Crowds of people (and their dogs) came along to have a gawp, Liverpool Chamber staff included. You can take a look at the pics we took over on our Flickr page.

She was certainly a majestic site, even if she is reaching middle age.
