A new project has been launched to give those city centre workers with a secret artistic life the chance to display their works of art in their more normal workplaces.
Face of the City is a genuine community arts project which is encouraging Liverpool City Centre’s Working Community to create their own artworks and exhibitions, and display them at their own workplaces throughout the city as part of the Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture celebration in 2008.
Paul Miller, Project Co-ordinator said: “The project’s Charter Mark will be displayed outside participating premises and also next to artworks making it easier for people to identify who is involved in Face of the City.
The project needs coordinators from each workplace to develop their own contributions to Face of the City, every business, organisation and service provider in the city is invited to take part.
This unique arts project will reach its full potential if employers and employees throughout the city work together to create their own contributions to the project and in turn Liverpool’s 2008 Cultural Celebrations.”
Paul is asking people who work in the city to visit www.liverpoolfh.org.uk to find out more about the Face of the City project. Prospective participants can contact Paul directly via email: liverpoolfh@googlemail.com. Alternatively, people who don’t have internet access can post their enquiries to:
