Liverpool Heritage Forum has developed a website aimed at visitors to the city that lists events of a cultural or heritage nature and also gives a general view of the city’s history. It is intended to have a section which records brief details on Liverpool-based businesses which have added to the character and quality of the city’s life over the years.

The web editors would be pleased to receive information about old established firms in the city which could be placed, in edited form, on this website. Any company willing to help with this please email apearce50@hotmail.com

Emap Radio, has been awarded the new FM local radio licence for Liverpool and will launch City Talk 105.9FM - the group’s first all-speech service, in January 2008.

Terry Smith, Chairman of Radio City, said: “We are delighted with the news, it will give a great boost to the services our two stations, Radio City and Magic, already provide for Merseyside.

“The new station will be 100 percent speech and unlike any existing service in the UK. It will tackle real issues and real emotions through the eyes of the people of Liverpool and will become the voice of Liverpool.”

Happy Halloween!

It's ALIVE!!!!!!Today is Halloween, every goth’s favourite holiday and the day the dead rise from their graves and drag unsuspecting souls to their doooom! Fab!

So to help you get in the mood, here’s a few undead links from around the web.

First, set the scene by listening to this mash up of Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus and the narration from Disney’s Haunted Mansion.

Then, impress your kids / neighbours / dog with some expert pumpkin carving. Here’s some designs to get you going. If the Force is strong with you, use these Star Wars designs. Do, or do not - there is no try.

The more ambitious / crazy may wish to try this pumpkin bomb. But it’s probably dangerous, so do so at your own risk.

After that, relax with a goblet of blood and this excellent (and free) zombie novel, serialised online.

Have fun, and don’t get caught by the ghoulies!
