The Post Office is planning to work in partnership with W H Smith to transfer the Post Office in Liverpool St John’s, Houghton Way to the new branch of WH Smith 83-84 South John Street.

The Post Office currently own and mange the premises in St John’s Centre, the intention is that WH Smith will manage the branch on behalf of the Post Office at the new site 630 yards away , at the junction of Lord Street and South John Street.

The new branch will offer extended opening hours Mon-Sat 9.00-17.30, there will be 15 serving positions. The Post Office will be located on the first floor and will be accessed by via a lift or stairway. This move follows the successful trail of six Post Office branches during 2006, producing good feedback from customers. Month of transfer is planned for May 2008. Royal Mail are inviting feedback by 31 March from customers who regularly visit Liverpool St John’s Post Office, on the following areas:

· The proposed opening hours of the new branch

· Access arrangements into the new branch

· the facilities that are planned for the new branch
