Artist Ian Fennelly gets inspired by Capital of Culture and exhibits his iconic cityscapes

Chester’s famous Watergate St Gallery is back on tour, this time in Liverpool with Ian Fennelly, acclaimed Merseyside based artist. The exhibition is free for all members of the public and will showcase iconic Liverpool landmarks and buildings captured with Fennelly’s typical charm.

When: Tuesday 11th November (VIP and press launch night from 6pm) - late December

Where: RENEW Rooms, The Tea Factory, 82 Wood Street, Liverpool, L1 4D

Following huge success back in March when Fennelly toured with the Watergate St Gallery in Manchester, and more recently to a grand reception in Florence, this time he is back where it all started, in Merseyside, where his inspiration began with ‘The Greatest Hits of Liverpool’, and this time he is exhibiting his famous talent in the city for two months in line with the Capital of Culture celebrations!

Ian Fennelly is an acclaimed cityscape artist and will be exhibiting his stunning artwork in the RENEW Rooms at Liverpool’s Tea Factory in association with RIBA Northwest and Chester’s Watergate Street Gallery.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is providing the opportunity for as many UK fi rms as possible to hear about the best ways of doing profi table business in Libya. The first step is awareness - and events in recent years have spread the word. The second step is to design an approach to doing business there which suits your needs, fits with evolving Libyan laws, and places you alongside the right partners and clients.

The events are for UK companies interested in Libya, and will feature introductions, presentations and case studies from a Director of NOC, the former British Ambassador to Libya and senior executives experienced in the market. The topics will cover a range of issues from selling and investment, financing trade and tax issues.

This course has been designed specifically for delegates who are new to exporting/importing and have recently taken a post in export sales, export marketing or export administration. It is ideal for import administrators and buying managers.

The course covers a fundamental foundation into the export process, terminology, how to build an export price, VAT and getting paid. It also cover aspects of the importation process, HM Customs, Import licences, Import duty, payment, quotas, and import management.

Facilitator: John Harrison MMRS MIEx
John Harrison is an independent consultant and trainer in international trade. He is a full member of both the Market Research Society and the Institute of Export. He worked in the aerospace and electronics sector for 15 years and then as Marketing Manager for the British Chambers of Commerce and as a Research Adviser for the UKTI Export Marketing Research Scheme, has an excellent understanding of the issues in international trade facing service and manufacturing businesses of all types.

Free Marketing Seminar For Business

Liverpool Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free half day workshop on the 9th December 2008 to assist businesses in the wards of Anfield, Everton, County, Kirkdale, Linacre and Derby to improve their marketing and presentation techniques. The course, funded by the StepClever initiative, is designed to help them win new business. The event will cover both one-to-one meetings and panel and tender situations.

Kevin Griffiths, Director of Commercial Services in Liverpool Chamber of Commerce said:  “These workshops aim to provide the skills and information to tender successfully and win new contracts in both the public and private sectors, focusing on selling effectively and communicating the right attributes. Marketing and presentation techniques will provide either a hands-on, practical refresher, or a first time session on a number of different aspects and demonstrate how to raise the game in personal presentation.”
