This seminar will bring together some of the best expertise available in developing your business within the China Market.

The audience is expected to include creatives, Regional Development Agency representatives, Local Authority communicators, Corporate Commissioners and representatives from Chinese businesses in the UK.

The seminar will commence at 12 noon with drinks and a light lunch, followed by a showcase of 5 Gold Award Winners from the IVCA Awards 2009. There will then be brief presentations from each panelist followed by an educational and informative question and answer session, where you can find out more about the business development opportunities available to you in China.

upThe Everton Foundation has teamed up with Liverpool One Odeon to offer tickets to an exclusive preview showing of Disney Pixar’s new animated 3D film UP.

The 10th smash hit comedy from Disney Pixar, UP is currently the second largest Pixar animation at the US box office after Finding Nemo and became the first animated film to open this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

This hilarious and heart-warming film is about the adventure of 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America.

But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip – an overly optimistic 8-year-old named Russell.

Liverpool One Odeon will be showing this 3D family extravaganza at 10am on Saturday October 3 – a week before its official release in the UK – and all proceeds will go to The Everton Foundation.

Tickets are £7 for adults, £4 for children and £20 for a family (two adults, two children).

Disney Pixar has donated the film for free and the Odeon has lent its support by giving free screen hire and staff for the fun event.

For tickets and more information, ring Rowena Finn at the Foundation on 0151 530 5253.

UP is released in UK on 9th October, cert: U.

legacy-rainbow-logo-dec-07Tickets are now on sale for a top class ladies luncheon to be held in aid of The Legacy Rainbow House at Park Hall Hotel.

Entertainment will be provided by a ‘Loose Women’ style panel and special guest speaker at the event is the inspirational Jean Walker who completed the 350 mile Polar Challenge, a race across the Arctic. The luncheon includes a drink on arrival, a two course meal and luxury stalls selling beauty products, jewellery, accessories cosmetics and more.

Jean Walker is Managing Partner of TWP Solicitors, a law firm based near Stockport.  The challenge for Jean and her compatriots in Team Artemis was to cover the 350-mile distance in biting temperatures of up to minus 50 degrees C. The journey was a tough one, both mentally and physically, and with young fit men failing to complete the route in previous years, it was highly ambitious for a 52-year-old woman to take part – but take part she did and Artemis arrived victorious at the finishing point in third position.

Before, during and following the challenge, Jean has raised funds totalling nearly £4,000 for national charity, Headway, which provides emotional and practical support for brain injury sufferers and their families.

The luncheon takes place on Thursday 5 November 11am-3pm. Tickets £25, are available from Serena at The Legacy on 01704 823276.
