Northwest businesses now have until January 20 2012 to enter the Chemicals Northwest Awards.

Designed to showcase the best chemical companies in the Northwest, the Awards are open to all member companies and all other North West businesses.

This year, for the first time, each winner will automatically enter the Chemical Industries Association National Awards, taking place this year on June 21.

The Awards will be announced during a high-profile dinner at Manchester’s Imperial War Museum North on Thursday March 1.

Categories for nominations include Innovation – Product or Process; Sustainability – Manufacturing Excellence or Environmental Technology; and Skills – Investor in Training/Staff Development.

The other awards are for Image/HSE – Corporate Social Responsibility or Responsible Care; International Trade; Service Business of the Year; and Manufacturing Business of the Year.

Duncan Simcock, Chemicals Northwest Operations Manager, said: “The Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the great work going on within the region’s chemical-related industry.

“We hope that companies operating across the sector will take advantage of the extended deadline to submit their entries and help us to promote their achievements.”
